About the event
Wai-iti Dark Skies would like to invite you to A Night Under the Stars.
This event will be held at the Wai-iti Dark Sky Park at 437/439 Wakefield- Kohatu highway, Wai Iti, south of Wakefield, on the night of Dec 8.
We encourage you to bring your camper van, caravan, tent, bivy, ground sheet and sleeping bag and spend the night or just part of the night with us under the stars. You will need to cater for yourselves with food and drink, sleeping options, deck chairs, binoculars and the like.
Astronomers will be present to explain the night sky and let you look at objects through their telescopes.
The main observing period will be from 10:00pm to midnight, but by all means come earlier to set up your campsite if you wish to stay overnight with us.
